We are expanding our factory!

Hello everyone! Patrik here – I’m responsible for the Svedbro Smide factory in Gnarp. For those of you who may not know us very well yet, we manufacture premium tools with a strong focus on durability, functionality, and quality. Our product range includes wrecking bars and the Stalpen tree-felling jack, and we also produce components and tools for our sister company in Gränsfors.

We are now taking a major step forward. We have been entrusted with expanding our factory by 2,400 square meters, which will triple our production space. This is a significant investment that will give us greater opportunities to develop both our production capabilities and product offering, while further strengthening our operations in Gnarp.
As part of this expansion, we will broaden our operations. In addition to forging, we will integrate the production of our own tool handles, both for our own products and for customers manufacturing items such as axes and knives.
A key element of this initiative is our major investment in securing our own material supply. We will become the largest importer of hickory in the Nordic region and one of the five largest importers worldwide. Hickory is a wood species renowned for its strength, toughness, and long service life, making it the ideal material for tool handles.
In the long term, this investment will create new jobs, provide greater opportunities for development, and further strengthen Gnarp as a center for industry and craftsmanship—and as a great place to work.

I will guide you through the process with regular updates, sharing both stories and images from our journey toward the new Svedbrosmide 2.0.
